Daniela Stamatiadi is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts. She works in Athens as a painter, illustrator and visual arts teacher in private colleges. She has been a freelance children’s book illustrator since 2000, resulting in more than 100 books. In 2010 she received the Greek IBBY award and in 2012 the EBGE praise for her illustrations. She was also invited to represent Greece at the Salon du Livre in 2012 in Paris. Daniela has taken part in numerous painting and illustration exhibitions both in Greece and abroad.
Since 2012 she has been collaborating with the Frissiras Gallery and the Frissiras Museum. In 2013 she received two EBGE praises and was also granted with an Anderson award nomination. In 2016 she won the Peter Pan prize for the best translated book from the Swedish IBBY for her book “Sabelle’s Red Dress”. She also had a solo exhibition of her illustrations with the title “En Annan Plats” (Another Place) at Gotland’s Art Museum in Sweden. In 2017 she participated at the Bologna International Children’s Books Fair, as a member of the jury for the illustration exhibition. She is represented by Astound Illustration Agency.
